Scouting data must be trustworthy
IPM collapses when scouting data is invented. Train scouts, define sampling points, and audit scouting by re-checking a sample of blocks weekly.
Thresholds convert data into decisions
Set thresholds per crop stage and per pest, agreed with the agronomist. Record the threshold that triggered every intervention — this becomes strong audit evidence too.
Bring biologicals in early
- Introduce beneficials before pest populations peak
- Check compatibility of chemistry with beneficials
- Protect refuges and flowering borders
Rotate modes of action deliberately
Keep a season-long rotation plan by IRAC and FRAC group. Resistance builds quietly and reveals itself when a reliable product suddenly fails.
